Letās begin the tour
I added wreaths to the backs of my counter stools!! I love wreaths on the back of chairs no matter what the season is I blogged about this yesterday you can find it here >> > Simple Easter VignetteI just added a little wooden riser and a plant I added three little egg nests as this is my tea area so I need it clear as I drink tons of tea! I added a carton of eggs and a bunny picture (cute)I added two little bunnies and a chicken . I use this area for cooking and need it to be a free zone so I can easily move these bunnies out of my way .. I place all my spices on this marble tray so it doesnāt stain my countertop . I originally had this in the hutch but took it out! I like it better here. I added two little vases and an Easter picture/ signMr & Mrs bunny sooooo cute!! This is kinda my work station area . I keep my diary journal pen lighter etc here This was day three project. You can check it out here >>> https://fb.watch/jarK8A_QXt/I added a live life laughter etc candle light and sone bunnies to my hand washing station!! This is yesterdays project you can find the video here>>> https://fb.watch/jarFUPB0J0/This is an over all glimpse of my Easter kitchen decor My hutch I decided to hang the diy picture frame here , for now anyways..
Thanks for stopping by all and hope you got some inspiration!
At the end of my blog post I have left the links to the other girls posts so make sure you check them out and take advantage of some stunning Easter decor/styling inspiration.
Today we are on day four and we are doing a vignette.
So let me jump right into the post!!
I simply took a round tray that I recently purchased. It blue so it blends in with my pother decor around the house.. I added a silver mirrored riser. Then I placed some books that I painted for a diy craft I added a simple Easter wreath. This one was perfect as it looked like a nest which was the theme I was looking for.I had this wired typed sprig garland which I just rolled up till it looked like a nest.. I added my bronzed brown bunny on tbd books inside the nest I placed another bunny on the opposite side. I placed both bunnies slightly facing towards each other. I then added a vase that I crafted to look like real stone. This is from a diy project I did a few months ago.I added some faux florals that I had on hand. These sat in the vase nicely. They were the perfect size.
I arranged some faux flower bunches that I had on hand..
I added a candle that I purchased only yesterday. Then I added some bronzed and blue sparkly egg sprig.I lit the candle. Smells amazing!! So at the end , I stood back and checked it out and moved around the florals until I perfected the look!
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you got some inspiration.
God bless!!
Teresa XOXO!
So guys donāt forget to check out our fabulous host Terrie
Iāll be doing my entry table and the other girls will be giving you inspiration on their entryways also. So be sure and check them out ( links at the end of my post)
First thing i did was cleared the entry table and added a wreath to my mirror!
I replaced the lamp from my lounge room to my entry way I placed a huge vase and added blue/ gray floral and some earthy tones! You can check out how I did a diy on tbd case here>>>> DIY Stone VaseI added these little blue and gold vases as they matched the colour scheme I was going for. I added a trio of candles I added back my tri frames! On the bottom I added two different sized baskets both the same make! And just added a string of beads .. I needed to hide the lamp wire .. On the bottom middle I added a wooden bowl on top of my interior decorating books ( The White Book) I collected these for years and got so much inspiration and joy just reading them! And finally I added a hand made wood turned riser and a hand made wooden bowl. This is my finished look The finished look This is just a quick shot of the way I was going to present it at first but swapped things around as I added in the lamp..
I really wanted to keep with the earthy and natural tones! I hope you like my styling inspiration and you can take something away from this!!
Donāt forget to pop over and give Terrie and Tammy a thumbs up Iāve added both links at the bottom of my post!
Thanks for stopping by and stay safe and God bless
Hi all! Welcome back !!! Its so hard to believe that Christmas has been here and gone and all the Christmas decor is down and packed away Iād just like to say that I hope your Christmas went well and you have a great new year for 2023!
So now that all the Christmas decorations are down and safely packed away for another year I need to restyle the top of my bookcase/ shelving unit..
Iāll leave their links at the bottom of my post so please jump over and check them out and give them a thumbs up..
First thing I did was get all the Christmas decor down and start with a blank slate ( except for the mirror door ) that has been up all year round and way to heavy for me to move!
Iām only focusing on the top shelf of the bookcase. Iāll be moving it across the other side of the room so Iām not fussy how the rest of the shelves looks right now!!
Next I added my terracotta vases and added sone faux greenery! Such a winner and they look good and I donāt even have to water them!! Bonus!
Terracotta vase Stone jug vase that Iāve had since I was 20 years old Thrifted find Only $2 Unfortunately that shop has closed down now.Vase Iāve owned for so long imported from Ireland Another case from Ireland . Itās mint green and tbd photo doesnāt do it justice .. Itās heavy too! This item is made of plastic it originally had jute rope on it and I stripped and painted it to look like stone .. I do have a blog post on this! I added this stone lady figurine.. depending on my mood I call her the crying lady or the thinking lady lol!!
Lastly I added a wreath in earthy tones
I do hope Iāve inspired you somewhat and thanks for dropping by.
Donāt forget to check out the other girls and give them a thumbs up!
I will post both their links at the end of my post so you can jump over and give them a like and a thumbs up!
Iām going to jump right into this home tour and just post photos so you can sit back and just scroll! Iāll be giving you a day and night tour
This is my wreath I hung on tbd back of my entry door
I hope you liked my home and how Iāve decorated it for Christmas. It might be right up your alley or not your cup of tea .. I did things different this year but somehow I still couldnāt help but sneak those reds in somewhere!!
I e made this wreath from scratch but itās been a few years ago now so Iāll try and break it down easy for you to follow if you want to make it yourself from scratch
First thing I did was get some plastic water mains pipe and covered it with black tape . I couldnāt find green at the time and I made this wreath about 13 years ago and has held up great.. I had a wide garland so I wrapped it around the black pipe I fluffed it up and put lights on it I then took some decor mesh and began to wrap it around the wreath I made a bow type effect on top and let me tell you that this stuff is so easy to work with and all you need is the actual branches to tie it and hold it in place. I added pine cones and some baubles I added the bells that I made and my hubby hung the wreath for me ! You can see the tutorial here >> https://throughavintagedoor/christmas-bells
So before I got a chance to take any more photos my hubby hung the wreath.
Because Friday is porch reveal day , I donāt want to give to much away today as on Friday we are all showing you our porch reveals!! Yay!! I will be showing you the whole outside of the house decorated for Christmas!
I do hope you like this tutorial. Donāt forget to hop over to Terries and Tammyās blogs to see what they have done!
Thanks for dropping by and Stay safe and stay blessed all!
Today on Decorate with us for Christmas we are doing a coffee table and side tables.
I only have a coffee table and a little fold up table thatās not much of a side table to be honest! Itās really a sad case but letās see what I can do with it anyhow ummm!!
Iāll be joining
Terrie from decorateandmorewithtip.com/. Tammy from patinaandpaint.com/ and Corine from https://www.facebook.com/JunkToGems. Make sure to click on their links below so it will take you to their blogs to see how they are styling their tables!
Mine is going to be the traditional reds and golds . Most of the other rooms are whites blues just simple but in this room Iām going all out with the reds and want it to be a classy tradition Christmas!
Here is how I started off
I started with books that I usually keep on the table! I added a candle on a red plate and it had berries on it.. I added a wooden bowl and placed acorns vintage cowbells and a candle I placed a candle holder that had greenery and berries on it!Behind the berry display a added a reign set , Iāve had this for so long I added a gold Christmas tree behind it .. I havenāt used this display in many .. Itās a wonder itās still useable! I placed Gold glass tree behind the candles
That completes the coffee table so we can move on and decorate my side table , I mean fold up table .. Itās purely for decorative purposes š
The first thing I did was place a riser and a faux pine treeI added a faux pine tree I added a wise man ornament that I picked up many years ago thrifting I added some pine cones .. You canāt notice the glitter on them The first thing I did was place a riser and a faux pine treeThis is a candle holder , I just added a faux pointers plant. This is the completed side/ fold up table I decided to add the wooden Santa I thought he looked cute there
So all thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you got a little inspiration from my table decor..
Until next to time , stay safe and stay blessed!!!
We are already on our guest bedrooms in our decorate with us for Christmas series . Itās already day 12 and Iām feeling the crunch now to get all the inside of my house ready for Christmas and then I need to start on the outside before December 1st
But before I think about the outside let me just say āwoh the horsesā and pull back on the rains and concentrate on todays reveal!
Iād like to begin with a big shout out to our host Terrie for once again planning and putting this series together.
At the end of this post you can. Jump over to Terrie >>> decorateandmorewithtip.com. Tammy>>> Patinaandpaint.com.
Donāt forget you can watch our videos on Facebook also!
To start the Christmas decor I decided to start at the bed head.. I donāt know why I do this but it seems to work for me!!Then I put the three wreaths up . I started in centre in the middle of the wall above the headboard. Then I put the two window wreaths up .. All wreaths matched each other.I moved onto decorating the two bedside tables. Below is the left hand side of the room nightstand I put the peace on earth sign up. I have this sign around 17 years now and each year I use it in my living are . This year I decided to use it in one of my bedrooms!I put the wreath and springs on the mirror.I then left the dressing table till last.I took this decorated tray from our bedroom and added sone Christmas pine sprigs I added a Christmas candle Added a sleigh that I had I added sone white faux plants I also added some pine sprigs and greenery with white berries! The house is newly built and I had to sell and get rid of lots of stuff while waiting on the build to be completed so I still havenāt found the right cushions to go with the bed so Iām using the ones that I purchased for my own bed . I think they look good in this room for now ⦠I always try to wait until the sales to buy Christmas items unless they are spectacular then Iāll purchase them at full price .. I just canāt justify paying lots of money when we only get to use them once a year!!Here is the room finished
So all thanks for dropping by and checking out my finished for Christmas guest bedroom . I hope you all liked it and I hope itās inspired you to do your bedroom too .
Dong forget to check out my friends below to see how they decorated their guests bedrooms.

Here is a before pic below!!
Hereās the before pictures
I started with a wreath and then it escalated from there , just simple nothing special!!
My husband is a lover of polo bears at Christmas and as much as I love polo bears I also love penguins .. I love the story of penguins and how they migrate through the cold snow .. Iāve never seen a faux penguin in a shop before so I grabbed it and it was the only one! A few Christmas books Just a few penguin shots! I canāt help but put a nativity set out at Christmas. I usually put out more than one to be honest and I have a few different styles. Iāve had this joy to the world sign for years and years now!!I love me a realistic looking faux pine plant⦠I just adore anything trucks and trees , Sooo Christnassy I just added a simple wreath to the door . We are waiting on our blind!! Love this scene
So all , I donāt have much going on at the moment and to be honest, I didnāt think I was going to decorate the laundry but how and ever something is better than nothing when it comes to Christmas decorating!!
Donāt forget to jump on over to my friends below where you will be inspired without a doubt
Welcome back to $10 on the 10th. Iāve teamed up with our host Tammy from patinaandpaint.com and also some other inspired bloggers. Today we share our diy projects for $10 or under. Iāve added all their links are at the bottom of my post .. Be sure to check them outā¦
Everything we do today is budget friendly. It will help to have some stuff in your stash. I usually keep everything from bits of ribbons paints glues etc sometimes things come in handy.
Today Iām going to do something simple.. I have a container of beads, like forever now .. I really need to put them to some kind of use so Iām going to make some Christmas decorations with them.
List of items you will need.
Beads
Ribbons
String /twine
Needle ( sewing)
Glue gun or glue
Sissors
Faux pine cones and greenery ribbons or what ever you have on hand
If you donāt have the faux pine cones or greenery donāt worry you can just use ribbon , I added pine cones and greenery just so you get the idea of how you can use other stuff to glam it up .. Iāll be making lots more and Iāll just be using ribbon .
Here are some of the items that Iāll be using
LETS BEGIN
First I gathered a few different sizes of beads
I began to thread them through starting with the smallest to the biggest then working back down the cord to the smallest Now that I have my beads evenly threaded I move on to the next part below!! I start at the second last bead and work my cord through When I get to the end I cut it and tie it offI made 5 and they even look good like this!! I cut some ribbon , made a bow and cut a straight piece so I could use as a loop to hang itI used a hot glue gun to join my ribbon loop to my bow you can use normal glue or what ever you have on handI then added the bow to the beads I cut a piece of gold ribbon cut it into strips I also made a bow and attached it all to the beads using my hot glue gun! ( see below)
See below for all the different oneās I made ⦠I made 5
Here are all the bead decorations together And I simply placed them on this tree!
So all , everything you see here I already had in my stash! Sometimes you just need use what you already have and the kiddos can have fun join in too!!
Donāt forget to hop on over to my other friends blogs below and see how they will inspire you with their under $10 Christmas diy. Donāt forget to give them a thumbs up!
Welcome back everyone and welcome to another day in the decorate with us for Christmas series. Whoot Whoot!!
Christmas 2022 has almost arrived and it feels like I just finished saying āChristmas 2021ā.. Iām in awe how fast this year has went by ..
Iām teaming up with our host Terrie from decorateandmorewithtip.com. Tammy from paintinaandpaint.com. and Corine from Junk to gems FB page https://www.facebook.com/JunkToGems.
I will post the links to the other girls blogs at the end of my post. So be sure to hop on over to get some inspiration from how they have styled their bathroom areas!
So as you know that we are decorating our bathrooms powder rooms or quest bathrooms. Iām doing my main bathroom which is actually my quest bathroom too!
Hereās how I begin my decorating >> blank canvas .. I usually take a photo so I removed how I had everything previously and then I put it all in a box until after Christmas..
Blank CanvasThe very first thing I did was hang a garland over the mirror. The reason I started here is because I have a few matching pieces that go with the garland, I have sprigs wreaths and more garland! Second, I placed a grey/blue French provincial jug that I had in my own en-suite and filled it with some white Christmas floras that matched the garland over the mirror .. I have a few of these , I also have matching garland and wreaths! I moved onto the other side and placed a Christmas tree (aluminium) hand wash and hand lotionI moved onto the hand towels and tied a star decoration on the top towel ( I always. Layer my towels)I hung this cute word picture over the towel railI put a faux berry plant bells an a bell candle on the bath trayIām in love with this bell candle I decorated a little table that I usually place my wine in when Iām bathing! (Tee hee) my hubby doesnāt know about my pamper time (shhh)I thought it would look nice to hang a similar decoration on the matching bath towel placed on the bath .. I used a pin to hold it on!I hung two wreaths on each side of the windowsI then decided to hang the garland across the top of the windowI added this wreath and it match red all tbd other faux decor I placed a little sign and a faux plant to the toilet lid!
Below is the finished Bathroom..
Daytime shot. Night time shot. I love these angel wings I added here I love the pine cones , especially the colour!
Well this is the end of the bathroom Christmas decorating ummm!! Maybe not! as I do have a habit of switching things around once the whole house is decorated!!
So all! thank you for dropping by and I do hope you get to take or some sort of little idea or inspiration that you can add to your home!
Today on day 4 of our Christmas series we are styling another part of our kitchen. Today you get to see 3 more wonderful ideas on styling for the Christmas
I will be joining up today by my talented friends Terrie at Decorate and More With Tip, Tammy at https://www.patinaandpaint.com/Please be sure and pop over and visit them after you are finished here to see what wonderful inspiration they are creating!
Iām going to keep my table very simple .. To some people this isnāt simple but what I really mean by simple , is simple in colour.
I Start off with a blank tableI added a simple wreathI added a basketI added a faux frosted pine treeI added a candle with glitter around it I added the bell candleI added a faux poinsettiaI added a string of beadsI added some booksI added a simple candle to the booksLastly added this beautiful bell candleHere is the finished Centre piece
Hard to believe itās Christmas decorating season againā¦
Iāve teamed up again with the girls , Terrie Tammy and Corine to take part in the Christmas decorating series. Iām jumping in at day 3 because I had a huge house party , lots of quests and I still have a lot of fall decor around the house.
Once again a huge thanks goes to Terrie from decorate with tip and more for hosting this series and putting it all together!!
Iāve never decorated any part of my house for Christmas this early before. But I wanted to take this time to show you how Iām decorating so you can grab some ideaās and will give you time to get out and get some stuff before Christmas is upon you..
So my hutch is going to be more on the vintage style!
So I started off by getting my Garland out .. I couldnāt find the one that I actually wanted to use as Iāve sooo much stuff , itās unbelievable! But I must say that everything I own I love it all!!
Here is my Garland! I have 4 of these and usually I drape them across my window! The pine cones and little white mistletoe or what ever they are , are naturally blended into the garland I love that they have different elements to them!!
The next thing I usually do is spread out the lights. I fold them in half to get the middle point then I Centre them in the middle of the garland . ( Little tip) get a ribbon or string and find the middle of your garland place and tie your string so itās unnoticeable and then each year you wonāt have to measure or bend it in half to get the centre point! Easy peasy!!!
Just finding my centre pointI then do same with the lights. Fold them in half and join the Centre of the lights with the centre of the garland!
I evenly spread the lights across the garland by weaving them in and out
I make sure that I put the plug at the right end of the garland so itās easy to plug into thesocketI place the garland to the way I want it and then start to trim it with my favourite Christmas decor.
These are some of the items Iām using to trim the garland!
A bunch of sprigsOcean blue baublesIām using some small dark blue , grey , gold and white mini baublesThese are called gum nuts and cone from a gum nut tree here in Australia. Iāve lightly sprayed them blue gold and silver . And really wanted to leave some of tbd rustic natural looking element of the nuts themselves
Below I have all the trimmings placed
Next step is hang the wreaths on the doors. Below is the wreaths Iām using
I grab a command hook but I hang it upside down and place it on the back of the door. You can measure the door to get an accurate centre part, or just do what I did and eyeballed it..
Donāt place it this way!Place it this way, upside down so when you place your wreath it can hang in
I then hung the wreaths
Here is the finished product, I hope you like my vintage take on a garland Iām pretty happy with it.
Iām hoping Iāve chosen the right vibe here! I think I have!
So thank you all for stopping by and I hope this post has given you some sort of inspiration.

Hi friends!! Welcome back to one room at a time Master Bedroom refresh.
Today is bed making day, where we finally get to style are beds!
Im joined up with our host Terrie from decorateandmorewithtip.com Tammy from patinaandpaint.com and Corine from https://www.facebook.com/JunkToGems
Friends you may have gathered by now on this series of the master bedroom refresh that the excitement of buying this bedding has got the better of me and the day Is finally here!!
Let me just remind you of the bedding before I change it!
The bedroom before I put the new bedding on it.Itās not in a bad way and still quite nice I have to say but I just needed it to pop a bit!
I always like to iron my sheets but sometimes I take the lazy option s
Just a different view of the bed! The first thing I did was stripped the bed and Iwashed all the white linen as Iām still going to use this on the bed!Getting the bedding out of the wrapping felt like opening up my presents at Christmas! this is the back side of tbd cover so I can reverse it if o wish! Iāll be using the floral side. This is very reason why I bought this cover in the first place!! Itās starting to look good!! YAY!!Itās all coming together just nicely. I added the white throw on the end of the bed . I left a gap at the end as I really feel that having a little break in the covers adds length to the bed . Especially if your using lots of pillows.. Like I have here! Once I had the bed linen on, I styled the tray and yes , I took the books and the flowers vase off the nightstand . I always change my mind before the end result.. Itās just a me thing!!Here is the tray all styled up!! Daylight photo šHere is the new look on the nightstand! I actually think it looks better!I thought Iād give you a shot of the room with just tbd mood of the lamps.
So my friends I hope you like the new look and hope you get some inspiration here!!
So donāt forget that tomorrow is reveal day.. where you get to see the whole room and I have a bit of a surprise in the room for you and to be really honest it took me a few days to decide on wether or not to do it, but you will need to come back tomorrow to see it!!
Please pop on over and see the other three girls who Iāve teamed up with in this bedroom refresh series.. Iāve provided all their links below below!
Hi friends, we are back again with a one room at a time makeover / refresh
This time we will be working on our bedrooms for the next week.
Each day we will post our before pictures. We will also focus on a focal wall decorate our furniture style our bed etc and on Friday July 29th we will post our reveals.. Videos will be posted on our Facebook pages.
Big thanks to Terrie for hosting and always coming up with a great plan.
So Iāll Be joining up with Terrie from decorateandmorewithtip.com. Tammy from patinaandoaint.com. and Corine from Junk to Gems and you can find Corine on Facebook. Iāll be posting their links at the end of my blog so please skip on over and see what they are up to.
This is my mood board for the room.
My bedroom isnāt fully ready for a full makeover and I have a few plans for this room so for now Iāll be doing a refresh ..
This is a photo of move in day This is the bedroom a few weeks ago before we got our new bed!! it took so long unpacking etc We put this room off for a while! I love the new bed and love the look of it .. Already I am visualising the changes Iāll make to this room!! Canāt wait to see the bed put together! Hubby putting the new bed together.Iāll add a chair in the corner and bring in the table .I did a makeover on this dresser 10 years ago! I actually found it on the side of the street on a New Yearās Eve . So for sentimental reason Iāll keep it .. It will go in my walk-in wardrobe for now. This is my bedroom as it stands .. Everything is exactly the way I had it in my last house. Yep, I think itās time to change things up a bit!! This will be my focal wall .. Maybe a picture gallery or a French provincial dresser Iām working on! These are the curtains Iāll diy, I canāt seem to find the right colour blend of material to match my bedding so Iāll hang on until the right material comes in store.. eventually Iāll be making them myself.
Ok friends Come back on Monday , I will be sharing the focal wall and what Iām doing with mine!!
Donāt forget to hop over to the girls below and see how they transform their bedrooms.. Iāve added their links.
Hi there, friends! It’s that time of month when I join some blogging friends of mine to share some of our ideas where we create different projects each month for under $10. Yes! thatās what I said under $10
The theme this month is Christmas in July!
Whoo whoot!
Can I just say that Iām a little excited . I just love love love anything christmas so this challenge was not getting by me!!
I have a huge Christmas wreath that I always wanted to add some vintage Bells on to it but to be honest I just canāt afford or justify paying the money that they want .. So here I am making them myself!
So basically , the deal is that we canāt spend more than $10 dollars on the project and mine basically cost me nothing! because I already had the paints , glue gun etc all I needed was to save up some bean cans.
Why Bean cans!
The reason why Iām using bean cans is because I want to be able to use them outdoors at Christmas, but my main reason is they are free , tough , durable and not easily broken when stored away. I was going to use soda drink cans but opted for the tin cans instead.
If you donāt usually buy product Items in tin cans you can get your friends to start saving them for you now so that you will have them for Christmas. I used two different sizes in this project. Also , a while ago a good friend of mine gave me some champagne corks tops that he saved up because he knew that I do crafts , so sweet of him.. Funny at the time I had no idea what Iād use them for but they came in handy for this project!
Friends! let me walk you through what I did!
I gathered up my cans, 2 different sizes and peeled off the paper and washed them in soapy water.
These are the cork tops my friend gave me!You can use any type string you can find .. I really wanted to use jute but I couldnāt find mine.I had a tub of beads .. i think they were 5 bucks when I purchased them but they have lasted me years!! I used a few of these for this project .. I had these little thread reels lying around . I think I picked them up for $2.50 For the top of the can I used curtain rings .. I picked these up a few years ago at my thrift store for $2 . There was about 20 in the packThese sticks were from a present given to me on Motherās Day .. They had chocolates stuck to them. Yep I keep everything just incase I need them for a project and whoopa! I did! At first I used a hammer upside down. It was workable but the technique below was so much easier to work with. I switched to this technique. I turned a long handled pick axe upside down⦠You may have clamps etc so do what makes it easier for you! Here are the cans all rounded off at the top , you donāt want them perfect. When you paint them the squashed look will make them look like they have been welded! I used my plyers to put dints in the cans so they will looked a bit more rustic. You will need your wire cutters or a tool that will clamp the bottom edges of the tin as they are quite sharp⦠This is only on ring pull cans .. I used a tin opener as it will be a clean cut and you want need to do the clamping.I did a paint primer on the cans so my plaster / baking soda would adhere to it. Only because the first one I did crumbled away from the can , silly me!! Here I used bi carb soda and black paint Mix the baking soda and paint together well. Then I spread it out smoothly around the can using an old spatula.
I want to mention that the baking soda and bi carb soda is the same product so please do not use baking powder as this product is different
NOTE! Also guys . bi Carb Soda takes 4-5 hrs to dry ( donāt panic it dries rock hard, donāt keep poking at it like I did lol! ) Plaster of Paris dries in an hour and can be sanded right away
Some areas of the can needed to be painted so I painted the can in a cheap black acrylic paint .I painted the inside of the can also.you can also see the texture on this one, it is un-sanded.Before the paint mixture dried I shook some cinnamon powder on the cans .. This isnāt necessary and I wonāt do it again. I want to store them away so I was a little worried that the scent of the cinnamon might attract unwelcomed visitors and they may nest! I drilled a few holes in the top so I could easily put the curtain ring in After I drilled the holes I used an old chisel to punch a hole in the top so I could place the curtain rings Once the ring was in I twisted it . Just for extra security.I decided to sand some of the texture off the can and sanded most if the cinnamon. I sanded down the can . Note: this one I used Plaster of Paris
You can always do another coat so the can texture is completely gone, I didnāt have the time right now but on my other cans I will do two coats ..
I started to experiment with different paint colours like gold metal, hi coppers etc . I settled with Gold in the end And I also let some of the black shine through . I want them very rustic and rusty looking. Quick tip: If you do use the cork stop , you will need to drill a hole on the Center big enough to allow the string to pass through I drilled a hole in the Center of the cork and threaded through some roasting cord and added a beadDonāt expect to have clean hands while doing this project .. itās pretty messy! I then hot glued them together. Itās up to you what way you want to tie and attach the curtain ring beads and cork. Thatās if you decide to use the cork… I didnāt stick to the same method for all three bells. Thread it through and then you can add the beads if you like. This is one of the cork tops with a bead attached. I fiddled around till I got the length I liked. TIP: It just needs to be peeping out of the can to make it look like a bell chime
Two different methods!
This shot , the can has been sanded and I used plaster paris here.. This shot is not sanded and i used Bi carb soda.
The list of items you will need!
Empty bean can

Well my friends here is my take on Old Vintage Christmas Bells.
This shot is with all our lights turned on! I love it!! Iām in love with the tones in the different lighting control around our house!! Every Angle is different especially when the sun shines or a light is turned on , they just glow How good do these look ?
At the end of my post I will leave the links to all the other girls who Iāve teamed up with and are participating in this challenge so be sure to hop on over to their blog pages to see what they have done and Iām sure you are bound to get lots of inspiration !!
Below is what Iām going to Dupe!
This one is $725.99 Nooo way was I ever going to pay that!
My dupe is a faux indoor magnolia tree! I have been wanting to do a faux plant for ages and when I picked up the magnolia stem at TK Maxx for $20 each . I knew that I was going to love this challenge so much!
What I needed for my project!
Magnolia Stems x 2
Pot (Black is what I used)
White Paint (any type except gloss)
Poly styrofoam
Knife ( to cut styrofoam)
Wire
Wire cutters
spagnum moss
Letās get started!
I had everything I needed already except for the magnolia stems so basically the whole dupe costed only $40 out of pocket!
I grabbed my old plant pot from the garden and gave it a good wash and hose down so it was clean enough to apply the paint..
I used the largest pot! A quick hose wash!
Then I used some white paint .. Any paint will do once itās a latex or water based paint .. You donāt want gloss as you will need to be able to smear and wipe it so it has an aged look. To be honest I didnāt have to wipe off much I just kept wetting the paint brush to make the paint more watery.
I painted the inside top of the plant pot so it would give the illusion of been painted all the way down through the pot.
After the paint dried I cut the styrofoam into pieces so it would fit into the plant pot.
Next step was putting the two stems into the plant pot and then filling around it with more broken pieces of styrofoam.. I pressed firmly wedging the styrofoam in tightly..
Next thing I did was secure the stems with wire. I messed around with the stems until the stems lined up and looked good I secured it with the wire in a few places.
When I was certain I like it I snipped of the wire so it couldnāt be seen
I used a natural sphagnum colour moss as I wanted the natural look to suit the room.. I placed as much sphagnum moss as I could fit around the bottom of the pot to hide all the styrofoam.
I then lightly and gently pulled the stem branches and flowers out a bit so it looked fuller.
I lightly moved and pulled around the flowers and branches on the on the stems to make it look fuller
So here is my magnolia pot plant dupe. I placed it around the house in a few different areas to see where I wanted it it to be placed and decided Iād keep it for now in my entry way ! Here in Australia faux pot plants are not cheap!!
So if you really love something donāt be afraid to challenge yourself. You can pick up the items pretty cheap and most of the other things needed are most likely hanging out in your house somewhere!
You may just surprise yourself with what your capable of achieving!
I hope you have found some tips and inspiration here.
Be sure and check out the other girlos below and see their amazing dupes too!
Finally made it to week four of the half bath one room at a time makeover challenge! How exciting!! One more room off the list!! To be honest , if I hadnāt have been asked to join along in the one room at time makeover , this half bath would have been left till next year!! It was nice and tidy as it was but not as stylish as it is now! Thank you to Terrie and Tammy for inviting me to join in this makeover challenge!
Prepped and trimed wallpaper to get ready for the chair rail.
This week I added chair rail trim and painted the bottom half of the wall and decorated!
I usually keep to whites but I decided to change it up and paint it in an off white light grey tone!
Letās get this week started
First thing I did was measure the length of each wall.
I had my hubby set up his chop saw for me , so I could do the cuts on the chair rail trim.
Please donāt judge our garden , itās under construction š
After I cut it to size I took it back inside and put adhesive on the back.
Then I attached it to the wall.
I then used my hubbies nail gun for extra security. For this part I also used a level so I could keep it straight while nailing it, once the glue goes on it will have a tendency to slip. The spirit level assures that you donāt let it slide and believe me, I let it slide , even with the level. You really have to multi task here and if I can do it so can anyone else!
Iāve never done a trim angle like this before so I did call hubby into rescue me. Once it got filled sanded and painted , you couldnāt notice the gaps. We were going to take these tiles back down but it got a bit expensive and we really need that money to be put into other areas of the house and garden plus the time it would take would be a little bit time consuming and time is precious.I gap filled everything that needed filling like all those little nail heads etcAll gap filled now. It looks messy but once itās sanded and painted , it will be good! Time for sanding .. I used a fine grit and used gentle pressure Taped up and ready for paintI also taped the underneath so paint wouldnāt get on the chair rail / moulding I did a white semi gloss on the trim.Taped up and painted I decided to take away the toilet roll holder and put it on the other side, so I had to fill these holes.. Hereās weāre I added the toilet roll holder , looks better here! Here a little tip for your quests. Fold the edges of the toilet roll and press it firmly under the tap spout and it will leave an imprint!! Itās a cool little feature for your toilet roll I thought Iād show you this photo so you can see the difference in colour .. My wall was originally white . I chose the colour Frozen Waterfall. The photo doesnāt do the colour justice , Itās so hard to see the true colour here , Our powder room is in the Center of the house and has no natural light.. At first I thought there was no difference in the paint colour but once it dried it was ok. Plus it matched the grey tone in the wallpaper! Bonus!! Here is the paint work all finished , so itās time to decorate , my favourite part!!! I hung this picture here as I wanted a little gold and silver combo I hung a mirror and matching sconces that I had for many many years and added a white vase with gold stems I added 3 pictures to the side wall but the mirror reflection makes it look like there are 5 pictures šDecorating the vanity I added these gold candies holders and silver tray I hung the pictures and styled the powder room. This is the finished project
Here is just a reminder of the start of the project
I hope you got a little bit of inspiration and it will motivate you to do a job that you have been putting off for a long time. Once I begin to visualise the finished project I think that it motivates me to move quickly on a project .. I usually keep putting things off but once I get going Iām on a mission!

Added a toilet roll holder
This week I hung the wallpaper.
Iāll walk you through what I do when hanging wall paper. first I measure the wall and eyeball the height that I wanted the papers length at , in this case Iām only doing half as I want to do wainscoting on the bottom half of the room so Iām only wallpapering the top!
I use a level to mark out all the walls so I can get my measurement from top to bottom . I cut my paper at 57ā so it will be longer than where Iāll be adding the wainscoting , this gives me room to play with .The very first piece of wallpaper I start with is in the center of the mirror as this is the main focal point when you enter the room. Then I work my way on either side I find it just works out better to start from the centre of the wall plus it looks even if you have a pattern.I measure the length I need and cut it about 2ā more , leaving an inch at the top and bottom to be cut I paste it ..Always read the paste instructions for your wallpapers as some you just need to wet the wall , some you need to paste and some you need to just paste the wall .. This paper needed walls only pasted but I didnāt follow this rule as the last room I did dried to fast , so I pasted the paper also. I leave it for about 5 minutes or more so the paste can absorb well into the paper . I always fold mine so it prevents it from drying out to fast.Always join the edges together very closely so the patern matches. As you can see in the close up , you canāt notice a join . Just take your time till you get it right and before you know it , you will get the hang of it , like a pro šI always use a white cloth to rub the edges together, if you use a coloured cloth you might get dye on the paper , especially at the edges where the paste oozes out and the paper is wetter! Some people use plastic tools like a scraper and some use paper rollovers . I just use a cloth , I find it easy enough using the cloth method! I started to go anti clockwise till I got to the back of the door and then went to the other side and worked my way right around.
Just a quick tip .. When I get the join just right , I start brushing out the air bubble from the middle of the paper and work outwards and upwards , then I work on brushing outwards at the end .. The paste makes the paper slippery so itās easy to move around and get it in place at the joins.
I hope this tutorial helped you get a bit of an idea of how to hang wallpaper.
Stay tuned for the reveal week.
Stay tuned for week 4 of the half bath makeover! This will be the final week and you will get to see the final reveal. Next week I will be doing the wainscoting and decorating!!

Ny inspiration Board
I wanted to bring in some greys gold and silver tones into this little half bath room, I know it sounds a little mixed matched but I thought , what the hec I can always change it if I donāt like it, right ?
Basically the room was a blank canvas and we got the professions in to do what we werenāt aloud as here in Australia they have strict compliance rules. Things we canāt do ourselves are as follows
Plumbing
Electrics
Tiling in certain areas
Here is our powder room as a blank canvas
So the first thing we installed was the vanity
Then the sink was installed and tiling got done on the same day The electrician came and installed the pendent light for me.
We managed to get a mirror put up over the vanity and the plumber came to install the Taps. Bonus!!!
I installed a simple towel holder as I didnāt really know how my powder room would turn out like, especially with mixing silver and gold tones so keeping it simple is best for now. I can always change it out later on if I need too.
As the room stands today
I hope you liked the beginning of my half bath makeover challenge. Donāt forget to pop over to Terrie and Pammys blogs
Iāve put the links to my other two friends below so check out their makeovers . Iām pretty sure they will have some great tips and lots of inspiration for you all!
This months diy challenge is going to be a diy home improvement or can be anything that will spruce up your home inside or out!! I chose to do a room spruce up!!
My challenge is my media /movie room!
Just so you all know , even though this house is a new build there are lots of things we are doing ourselves!
Basically in a nutshell, the media room or movie room as some call it, is actually one of the last rooms on our agenda to style. It actually become a dumping ground and we just couldnāt use it , so when our host Terrie from decorateandmorewithtip.com came up with the challenge , I just couldnāt say no and decided to join in.
Here are some before pictures of the room
Pretty pretty messy
All that knows me knows that Iām not into colours too much , I love everything white and nuetral.. but in our new build I promised my hubby that he could have some say in decorating the media/ cinema room .. So I had to try do something that was not so girly but yet have a classy look while still having some masculinity in it..
The first thing I did was add curtains.. especially for privacy !! Our ceiling are 2.6 high and I wanted them to hang high from the ceilings . Being a media room there could be no light seeping through unfortunately they donāt make curtains that high and it would have been thousands to get them custom made. I had two sets so I joined them together and made them longer adding a ribbon at the seem join! I also change out the pleating tape an I also bought material at half price for the black backing!
I added ribbon to the end so the join couldnāt be seen. That inspired me to add a black sheer curtain to the back ( which I made myself ) My hubby hung the double rail from the ceilings. This also allowed no light to enter into the room if we were watching movies during the day..
The room had no where to put our new 86ā TV and our solos system.. So the second thing I had to do was buy a tv console table so thatās the very first thing I started with started with was make over on this tv console that I picked up last week on market place. You can click the link here https/throughavintagedoor.com/tv-console- https://throughavintagedoor.com/?p=2492 to see how I did the makeover on this.
This is a before photo of the console!
Now that I had curtains and a tv console table I could move on and decorate! šš»šš»šš»
So I started rummaging through my garage I and opening up boxes to see what I had. I hung a few pictures and my huge clock that I love.
The sun was shining so photos where hard to catch .. But this room is a movie room so It will need to be dark.
Over all this room has become a lot better than just being a dumping ground.. Itās actually cosy now!!
The corner is basically the only area I let my hubby have.. So I let him put up some of his sports pictures ( you may notice that they are at the back corner of the room lol!! ) I kinda feel a little bit bad considering I promised him he will have total say in how the room will turn out but suppose you just have to use what you got at that moment and he didnāt have much stuffš¤·š»āāļøI also painted my giant vase white , it was to much on the terracotta tone!! Pulling the curtains to get the effect.
This is not the style I had planned out for the room , but however , itās now functional and looks so much better than a dumping room. So for a temporary fix to an unwelcoming room Iām thinking this looks pretty cosy!!
I hope you enjoyed my quick room makeover. Donāt forget to check out the links below to get some more inspiration from my blogging friends.
